About Me
Solo, Group, or With Someone Special — Travel Your Way
Traveling over 50 is about independence, connection, and saying yes to new experiences. I enjoy solo trips, organizing group getaways, and recently, the joys of couple travel. No matter where I go, I still get a thrill from finding ways to save money while treating myself to something special.
I created Bags Packed to share honest vacation reviews, practical tips, and personal stories. My hope is to connect with women who want to make the most of every chapter—whether you crave relaxation, excitement, or a little of both.
Let’s explore together and prove that adventure has no age limit.
Always keep your bags packed for the next adventure!

Meet Celeste
Welcome! I’m a 54-year-old divorced mom of four, and I’m passionate about inspiring travel over 50 for women. My journey into travel began when my kids were young and money was tight. Back then, vacations meant creativity, patience, and making the most of what we had. Those experiences taught me that you don’t need a big budget to create lasting memories—sometimes, the best adventures come from simple moments and a little ingenuity.

Embracing Travel Over 50
Now, as an empty nester with more financial stability, I’m embracing a new chapter: travel over 50 for women looks very different than it did in my twenties or thirties. These days, I appreciate the luxury of quiet mornings, leisurely breakfasts, and the chance to truly soak in a destination. I seek out spaces that offer relaxation and comfort, but I still love a little party time—whether it’s live music, a bustling local festival, or a lively dinner with friends.
A Foodie at Heart
(With a Sweet Tooth!)
Food is a huge part of my travels. I’m a self-confessed foodie with a serious sweet tooth, and I make it a point to visit at least one bakery or candy shop wherever I go. Trying new restaurants and sampling local dishes is a highlight of every trip, and I often find myself recreating those flavors at home. When it comes to accommodations, I admit I’m a bit of a hotel snob—I value clean, well-maintained hotels in vibrant areas with plenty to explore.
